Draft Inclusive Community Participation Framework

The City of Elk Grove is a diverse and vibrant community. We value and celebrate our residents, businesses, visitors, and staff and, as such we are committed to becoming a more equitable, accessible, safe, welcoming, and inclusive government and community

The Inclusive Community Participation Framework vision is threefold:

  • Ensure Elk Grove residents are well-informed about the functions, actions, and processes of our local government.
  • Ensure the community understands how and why decisions are made and contribute to City decisions by weighing in on issues that impact them.
  • Ensure City staff consults and engages with the community to understand their interests, issues, opinions, and perspectives, and factors these into plans and decisions.

The intent of this Framework is to ensure the City makes the process of two-way communication with the public easy, understandable, comfortable, and well-planned. When the City and the community are confidently working together, we can proactively address issues and find solutions that best fit Elk Grove.
